That is weird too bad they dont make punch 1000.1's and wut kind of meter wuz it on, wuz your box sealed or ported??? And wut kind of car??? What event wuz this at and wut class???
yeah well actually all of its off ebay. most of them say its not refurbished. i know some of them say it though.
if my speakers are 4 ohm does it matter if i run the 800.2 at 2 ohm? will i still get the same W?

Hey Long you can run 4ohmn speakers for a 2 ohmn load as long as they are single voice coil. If they are dual voice coils there is no way to wire them up to get a 2ohmn load. You will be at a 1ohmn load which will fry most amps. I know that the rockford is rated at 2ohmn load but not a 1ohmn load.
To wire your speakers to a 2ohmn load this is what you do.
1)Run a positive wire from the amp to the first speaker.
2)Then run a wire from the first's speaker positive terminal to the second speaker's positive terminal.
3)Run a negative wire from your amp to your first speaker.
4)Then run a new negative wire from your first speaker's negative terminal to the second speaker's negative terminal.
That's it and you'll be running a 2ohmn load this makes the amp put out more power that's it. But it will also make the amp run a little hotter.
You can also run it at a 2ohmn load bridged if you want. You wire the speakers the same way as stated above but you use the left side positive speaker out and the right side negative speaker out. That's how it's on most amps anyway but you may want to check the amp to be sure.

Any amp will work but you want be able to run a 2ohmn load so you'll just have to run a 4ohmn load. Or get four JLs that are dual voice coil so you can run a 2ohmn load. What model JLs do you have?

um and about what you just said here ^
i have no idea what that jibberish is
can you rephrase that in long man's terms.

Ok here you go in Long man's terms. This is directly from the jl website. Wiring like this will give you a 4ohmn load.
Here's how to wire it on your speak you should have a positive and negative hook ups on both sides of the speaker.
1)Run a positive wire from the amp to the LEFT SIDEPos. terminal on the first speaker.
2)Then run a pos. wire from the LEFT SIDEpos. terminal to the LEFT SIDE pos terminal on the second speaker.
3)Then run a negative wire from the amp to the RIGHT SIDEnegative terminal of the first speaker.
4)Again run a negative wire from the RIGHT SIDE negative terminal to the RIGHT SIDE negative terminal of the second speaker.
5)You run one wire from the LEFT SIDE negative terminal of the first speaker to the RIGHT SIDE positive terminal on the Same speaker only.
6)Move on to the second speaker and do the same as above and this will put you on the ohmn load you want.
This will wire the coils in series and wire the speakers in parallel.
First of all, if the subs are DVC and have dual inputs for the voice coils (IE my Blauchunk Overdrive), you might be able to hook them up at 4ohms each and then wire em' together to make a 2ohm load for your amp (possibly, depends on the sub, if the subs have an input for each voice coil then probably yes).
If you are going to buy Audiobahn, I would strongly suggest going with the HCX series. They are 1ohm stable. This way, you can buy an amp that's "rated" at less power, and wire in two 2ohm subs for a 1ohm load. The lower power rating on the amp will also put you in a lower category at some events and make it easier for you to smoke those damn rice boys with 12 sony xplods.
Just my $.02

PS - Earthquake? What about Memphis?

ok here we go.....
depeding on how i wire them i can get a 4 ohm and a 1ohm. it says
with the coils AND speakers wired in parallel: 2 dual 4ohm speakers (d4) will present a 1 ohm load."
so does that mean i only use one positive and one negative coming from the amp. because the illustration shows only one and one.
if so that means i have to look for an amp that has
800-1000w x 1 @ 1ohm?
or is it x 2?
