Noob question. Are amp kits universal or brand and model specific? What is a reasonable price to pay for a 4 channel amp kit?

 

Yes to both questions, and free to hundreds of dollars. You need wire, connectors, RCA interconnects and maybe distribution and fusing stuff. It's not that complicated and you do NOT need a car-specific kit. Shopping around is definitely the way to go for this sort of thing.
