So when i bought my car it the previous owner had an alarm system installed. It is audiovox (spelling?) i think... Well I love the alarm system bc it makes the really cool beep noise haha but the stupid thing sounds the alarm alll the time. Nothing will touch it, but alarm will blare and blare and go on and on. Well inside my car 2 switches for the alarm/keyless entry/and auto start are in there. Now one is loose but I think I fixed that part. But the alarm sound still wont stop going off and my auto start doesnt work anymore. Not the battery bc I just replaced that not too long ago. I have no clue about alarms at all so any help at all will be greatly appriciated to me and to anyone who has to listen to my alarm all day long lol. Thanks in advance fing02.gif .

Oh and i put this in interior and ice bc where else would it go? Sorry if in wrong place move it if it is please.

right place. honestly i hate buying a car with an alarm in it. its such a hassle when something goes wrong and you have no clue whats in it. the rd1 i recently bought had one in it and i just ended up ripping the thing out because it never worked right. as for your problem, im sure someone can help but im not to great with alarms. you could have a short in the wire for the shock sensor perhaps, setting it off when theres nothing wrong?

the first step in troubleshooting an alarm is to get the manual. Look under the dashboard, read on the black box what type of alarm you have and then look it up on the internet. You should be able to find out what type you've got. The "professional" alarm system was the most common dealer add-on for tiburons. They only market to dealerships. it's possible you have a professional alarm and a audiovox siren.

Regardless, look at the box, get the system name and type "installation gude model" or "owners manual model" and keep searching until you find the right one. eventually you'll find it and become an expert on the system. Once you know what you're dealing with, you will be the best troubleshooter on the system.

Asking a question like this is somewhat like asking what's the most common cause of system failure for my ford escort? This isn't exactally the right place.

If I were to take a guess, i'd say the fob came unlearned. You need to relearn the fob for the alarm.

that can happen? even if the fob still works fine (like when you press unlock, lock, trunk, panic it performs all the functions correctly..)

i'd say 90% its a faulty sensor. find the alarm manual like dtn said.

then go on a search to find the alarm brain. take off your dash and im sure you'll find it. whatever wires running out of the alarm correspond to a sensor(checking from the manual) cut them off and wrap the ends in electric tape.

if you don't have some kind of sensor then it gets way more complicated troubleshooting wise.

no, it wouldn't be that if lock and unlock still work. He was saying that he can't get the alarm to shut off and remote start wo't work though.
