It will do worse than hit you in the face. There are a LOT of reports of people getting their arms broken by the exploding bag.. or if you like to drive with your hand at the top of the wheel.. people punching themselves out.

If the air bag light is on there is a 99% chance that the air bag will not deploy. Get it fixed by your dealer. Cause when you do get in a wreck and it doesn't deploy its your face into the window. Choice is yours.smile.gif

Unfortunatly.. with the incorporation of airbags into new cars.. a lot of the manufactorers have lowered the performance of what the seat belt can do. Designing the system to use both the bag and the belt to work together. The seatbelts alone just do not cut it any more.. which is a shame. I HATE air bags and I would remove the stupid things from my car if I was legally allowed to. If you wear your seatbelt... and that belt is designed properly, you do not need the bag.

Ehhh, I don't agree Mad Machine. On either point man. I've seen several folks get in accidents where the bags don't deploy and they are fine with just the seatbelt. I've seen others that if the bag wasn't there, they would be hamburger. Statistics are real man, cars are much safer with the Bags. Hell, we even get SIDE impact bags now.

All I know is the one accident I got into with an air bag equipped car.. the bag hurt me more than the accident did. It burnt the back of my right hand pretty badly.. and this was not a slow speed accident either. This was me trying to avoid an accident and causing another by stuffing my ex boss's car into the back of a parked pickup at 30+ mph.
