Any cleaning product that will get the black powder crap off is going to eat through the old finish too. Its either new dash, paint the old dash, or leave it be.

I guess that makes sense. It's not that bad. I'm gonna take another shot at cleaning agents and then I'll Armorall it.

Let's see what happens

nah mang, when i had to take some paint drops off of my headlight nothing worked. try paint thinner. the reason it won't come off is because of the gloss and of what kind of paint it is. it's probably very sticky.

Won't paint thinner strip the dash of it's color. I'd be worried to use something that strong.

You'd have to be extremely careful, and since its not just in one small spot it'll be pretty hard to get lucky and just strip what you want to strip every time.

But hey, if you strip it too much, you'll be ready for the other two options. You'll either have it partially prepped for painting, or tear it out for some new panels. lmao.gif

Since you've determined that it's not just dirt/dust, then really there is only one way to add a finish to something...

(in case u didnt get it that would mean paint it)

could always use some rubbing compound, polishing compound and then a light coat of wax, then call it a day.
