if i bought an RD2 gauge cluster would it plug and play right into my RD1 without problems? are the PC boards similar enough for it to work right?
also, would it be easy to swap the odometers?
reason i want to do this is because i have 01 gauges and the idiot lights are slightly off, i want to be able to use these faces so i am going to try to get an rd2 cluster and swap the odometer.

Yep. I have an RD1 guage cluster in my car right now (with swapped odometer). I will swap back when I have time to finish my LED project in my RD2 cluster.
Swapping the odometers are easy. 3 screws in the back and 2 in the front clear part. You have to remove the needles though, so make sure you set them back on right before putting everything back together. I personally put the cluster in with the clear cover off so I could adjust it before putting the car back together.
If you find one of those police speed readers on the side of the road, it helps verifying that your speedo needle is right smile.gif
