Usually a solid color represents power if the 2nd wire has a line through it.. which would be ground.

Also be careful.. Hyundai is not loyal to wire colors.. there are A LOT of differences between years 97-01 as far as wire colors.

Also don't for get that when you tap into the green wire from the switch panel nothing will turn on unless you connect the switch back up with it. Figured this out last night when I was adding my light to the handle.

Quick question. I have power but for some reason the light seems extremely dim. Not sure if its the light I bought(5mm green light came pre wired with resistor in negative side). I don't think I have the box it came with but I got it at radio shack.

[pre packaged setup]
I set it up like the following:
Spliced the green wire.
Connected the positive side of the led to the wire coming from the door.
Connected the negative side of the led to the wire coming from the connection piece.
(Cant remember what size the resistor) but its in with the negative side.

did you cut off the cig. lighter? some neons have the transformer built into the cig lighter, which is needed to step up the voltage. these ones will tell you not to cut the wires at all.

I know this is old but goes with what I'm looking at.

I'm wanted to add neons to the door pocket and/or speakers.

Ive tapped into the power supply for the light switch in the door panel and connected a 5mm led but it seems extremely dim. Is there a way to "get" more power to get the led to be brighter? Its just a simple led from radio shack.

you need a resistor for the led.

what size would you recommend?

Is the dimness because its trying to draw to much power?
