Just wondering why you all decided to buy a Hyundai over any other car? For me...it was a few things. Value for the price, unique-ness (not everyone having the same car), and the warranty. smile.gif
this is a great topic. well.....I was 16 my first car 2001 red Tiburon. but this was no ordinarily Tiburon(someone fixed the internals of that engine).5 speed and went 120 mph in 3rd,and had the car every bit of 150mph. no turbo the engine looked like if it was stock.hardly anyone believed me but I promise you this 5 hours after I got my license and spun it out in 3rd at 120 spun so hard I had a rock stuck inside my back right tire. we traded in to get my dad a truck and I waited waited for 5 years and finally got another one that tells you something right their.

I saw a Tiburon at the dealership when I was 16. So I took the brochure home and hung it up on the wall. Then about 8 years later, when I came back from Iraq, I bought a RD. I always wanted a Tibby.
Looks and uniqueness.
I was 15 or 16 and was in a chat room on AOL. I heard someone mention a Tiburon and how they loved it. A year or two later I looked for what a Tiburon was, and having never seen one before was interested. I test drove it, loved it, and saved up for a year or so before buying it.
Had I never been in that chat room and heard about a Tiburon, I never would've been in the Hyundai scene. That's why I make sure to mention to everyone drooling over my car that it's a Hyundai. Maybe just those words will bring them to the light. I'm so glad I didn't buy that Red 98 Eclipse Convertible GSX

My uncle bought the tib brand new back in 01. He gave it to me back in 08 with only 55k on it. I remember never wanting the tib wanted a dsm for a long time. But he let me drive it one day and I fell in love. Which is funny since it was a stock auto but I thought it was a fun car.

to answer the original post. 18, no credit, it was cheap.. for the accent. I always liked the way the XDs looked so I got one when I found a 5spd
Now... on what I quoted
120mph in 3rd? My elantra has longer gears than a tib and I am turning redline at 90mph in that gear... What was that tib turning to see 120 in third?
You broke the tires loose on a non turbo charged tiburon at 120mph... was your speedo broken? pirate.gif
You have a valid point. but with the resources and money anything is possiable.but when your 01 Tiburon 5 speed beats a short block v8 mustang firebird eclipse Hondas and im not joking around least I remind you I waited and saved up for 5 years to get another one after I almost died in that dam thing I didn’t have my license for 3 out of those 5 years you be the judge

the Tiburon was my dream car. the curves. the shape. the rally. the design. better ergonomics. better comfort. the cheapness > any other cars. i had a nice new good car well before any one of my friends.
