I recently had this happen to me when I was out driving the other day, went to roll down the window and it just dropped through. I looked at the cables and they are all destroyed and frayed. I contacted the local hyundai dealership and they said they could do it for $329.00 + $41.00 for them to look at it and determine if indeed it is the window regulator.

Call and ask if they will do it if you supply the parts.

This IS covered by your warranty.

Don't have a warranty on my car, I bought it used from an older lady. I found it online for about $135.00 which isn't to bad. I can install and replace this equipment myself.

You guys have to look into U-pull-it junkyards... There starting to throw 97-98 tibs in there (atleist here anyway, there are 2 in the yard I go to alot). This is the price right off their list:

Window Regulator (with motor) Cost: $15.90 Core:$2.00

Window Regulator(without motor) Cost: $7.40

Not that you shouldnt spend your money, but why spend $135 when you can pull it out of the car (Hey, you can find out how to put it IN this way, without breaking YOUR tib) for $8.

I've looked into pull it yourself junkyards and have had no luck. I'll keep looking because im not wanting to settle for $135. It's just the lowest price I have found for the time being.

You have to have a couple in your area. Check them like once every month or two. They cycle their cars on a schedule. I checked 4 different ones before I found one that has a good selection of imports.

135? that seems a bit steep. I had a window replaced in a friends T bird for that much... and that was with labor at a glass shop.

Yeah, it's your cable... same thing happened to me. It rusted out from water getting in there and snapped. The crappy thing is, the motor in your regulator is probably fine... but you can't buy just the cable, they are attached as one piece. Doh.

Keep checking the junkyards, thats where I got mine.
