Mad is right about the converter. KSpec should be able to get one.
Personally, I think you need to shift near Redline in an automatic, but not in an manual. The gears in the auto are longer, so it'll drop even more out of the powerband. If the auto shifts @ 6k, in my manual it usually drops to 5k, right near where the power starts creeping up. On an auto it may put you back near 4600, if not more, which is outside of where you would want to be.

y didn't you guys just buy manual cars in the beginning??? my car was the only manual on the lot, i hated it, and the only car i liked was auto... i like my car now but in the beginning i did everything in my power to break it.

Bryce, I hear you there.. when I bought my tib.. it was the ONLY tib in a lot filled with several dozen that was neither an FX or an auto.. and I bought it NEW from a dealer.. I originally wanted either silver, blue, or black.. but had to settle for the dark forest green.. which has decidedly grown on me over the last five and a half years.
