Default Transmission swap

Hi, all.

I have a 7/96 SX coupe 1.8ltr 5-speed manual. The transmission is done.

Will other transmissions bolt up to the 1.8ltr G4GF engine?

Like can I use a 2.0ltr from a 98 coupe ect.

Thank you

Yes, they use the same block, so any transmission will work. You can even go into the 2002+ years.

Yes, that would be a worthwhile swap. Little high mileage, but I doubt you'd find any better considering how old the cars are. If you're mechanically inclined, and have the time, I would do a fresh rebuild on the motor with new oil/water pump, rings, etc.
