Time for a new battery

The only battery I *wouldn't* put is a lithium chemistry battery. Light weight I don't need on a daily driver (what with a/c and power steering, plus all the emergency stuff in the trunk) and they have a fun failure mode that does a decent imitation of a firebomb. Lead-acid, AGM style, thanks.

The environmental and safety cost with lead are very high and that keeps pressure up on the cost of batteries.

For a few weeks since the weather has been cooler, the starter cranked just a little slow. Then the last couple days, it was noticeably slow. Today, no start, not even starter click. I was considering switching battery brands before, but I didn't realize until today I've been using this Red Top since 2006.



Seven years is Outstanding Performance for a battery in my book, so now I have a new Red Top.
