I cant get a pic, but i can explain it so here we go....

I bought the car and shifting into 5th gear or reverse it clicks. Kinda funny i though. So i am putting in some lighting and i took the centre console apart and realized something. It almost looks like the shifter sits too low. There are two springs that hold a part, and i think it should be in between it. But it is under neath it. The click comes from when i go to 5th it pulls one of the springs over, but then it doesnt hold it so it snaps back causing the click....

This cant be how it is suppose to go. And would this affect my shifting problem of grinding into second over 4000 rpm or is that just syncrose...

Take a look at the DIY I did for the RSide Advanced Short Shifter, there are closeup pictures and diagrams on how the springs go.

Okay i am not sure how to do this image thing so i cant do that....

But if you look at the dyi u referred me too earlier, it is the second picture down. The blue part has a little nub that sticks up to sit in between the two springs (i think the springs are for bringing it back to the middle) Well my nub is under then and just catchs them but they snap back while the shifter is still over. I asked the guy who i bought it from and he said he did it himself. So i think i needs to be looked at....

Ahhhh....

I bet he didn't put the little white bushings back in there from the OEM shifter.

Contact him and ask him if he's still got the STOCK shifter.

As for posting images, go into the testing section and give it a whirl. I'ts VERY easy on this site. Just right click on the image (It has to be stored on the internet, not your computer), go to properties, highlight the ENTIRE URL or LOCATION address for the image, copy and paste it into your post where you want it. Then, highlight that same thing in your post and click the "IMG" button.

Very easy.

You are talking about the silver part above the green arrow in that picture. It's sitting just below the spring arms.

I'm thinking the guy that installed it forgot to bring over the OEM plastic bushings

The ones I'm talking about there. Then it would sit low, and wobble when in neutral.

What shifter do you have installed?
