yup that is the shit indeed... so you quick fix for the tibby and any other car is to remove the inner fender covers clean it up as much as you can remove as much rust as you can, then put 2 coats of that rust proof pain i don't know the spelling of it "heavy duty rustoluom"? and 2 coats of undercoating spray on it. and make sure the shit is thick on the bottoms were the mud flaps are if you do this you will be golden. also spray up in the upper wheel well where the strut connects to the body..we used to live next to the ocean and i have tried may thing but this has worked the best IMHO.. it will work on all cars as well.. you will have to take a peek at least 1 a year just for good measure or 1 Evey 2 years...
Yea i just removed my front fenders to paint them today, and man i found a ton of dirt and build up and they had only been on for about 2 months (couldn't afford the paint yet, hehe). I'll have pics up of the repainted tib by the end of the week.

Found out today that its not just a dent that there is a little gap between the sheet metal and found out today im extremely lucky that it didn't hit my structural part yet.
RUST BELT SUCKS! FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO MELT ICE OFF ROADS WITH!
These pictures are whats left after taking everything that was flaky or was thin. For size refrence, you can see whats left of the jack mount. i would say its a good 4x6 hole...ALL neatly hidden behind the sideskirts.

They use salt in Central Texas. . . and shut down the whole world when there is ice. If you need to be able to use the roads when there's ice, it's salt or a heated road. And you don't want to pay the taxes that would be required to heat the roads.
Don't fill this area with expanding foam. It's the drain from the under-windshield cowling. Just clean it out every once in a while. This is what I had after 9 years, including 5 years parking under an ash tree (the seeds, you wouldn't believe how many seeds they drop! ).
