Roll Cage And Genral Group Buys

Yes...b/c I'm informing him that regulations state-side may not be the same across the ocean. Yep...give me a break. You just have a problem with me.
And Viper basically said the same thing I said. You probably won't get away with the bolts holding those bars in place. Yes, you can get them welded...but that would require you to strip down the powder coating/paint/whatever...weld the metal, then repaint the areas you welded.
Also, there are rules and regulations in SCCA (but I doubt anyone thinking about buying this is doing SCCA) that require you to use a specific diameter for DOM steel and chromoly. In most cases, NHRA rules tend to be more strict than SCCA, so I'm not sure if diameter and type of material is strongly emphasized in NHRA.

Arctic, how dare you make counter-productive points. tongue.gif Go home. Go home and think about what you've done. Don't come back until you are ready to apologize wink1.gif
Honestly, this situation is similar to the saying: a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
That bar is held together by bolts. If I were on a track at high speeds and my car flips. I would not want a bar held together by bolts. IMHO I would not expect them to stand up to a high impact crash. That's just my uneducated opinion, and I think I'm entitled to it.

NHRA requires 1.75" mild steel, which it looks to be.

So basically we just get the cage and get a shop to weld it in which shouldnt be a big deal, so I hope this wont happen but can it take a roll at 100 or so I dont do anyhigh speed autox now but would like to in the future (just low speed 4 now)
Shouldnt be to expensive to jsut get teh pieces since they dont need brackets or anything if were going to weld. Im down for the 6 point and a steering wheel. seats later. once again, when can we start this? Maybe get an "official" thread in the GB section

lol remember at the supernats that prelude/skyline car that had exhaust tubing as the rollcage?
and i agree that doesnt look very sturdy it would have to be welded

i would be up for air ram strut bar..
steering wheel.. steering wheel quick disconnect hub if they can get em.. you said they make seats??? any pics??
i like the roll cage but first turn off was the bolt in style.. a lot less rigid, and chance, not a big one, but a chance to come apart.. id be up for that too, show purpose, and rigidity purpose mostly..

i ask them they can weld them to your spec if you want, and the pipeing is about 1/2 in bigger then what johngtr said... the pics i used was there demo car... and yes they will handle a roll these are the same one that the professinal racing teams use here in korea and they also are in the process of getting citerfied by the FIA.... since viper and ac are such racer they should know what that is... No disrespect intented and if its any help it is also on the tibby that i race over here on the track here... the one installed in that car is a sample only you guys would not get "trash ass probucts from me" if one of you guys got hurt because of something that you got from me.... i could not deal with that and that is not bull shit, i see eveyones point and i know that the rules are diffrent in the US. but dont you all think of one min that i would sell you guys a roll bar made out of muffler pipe.....
as for the other i will take care of the shipping and it will go throught the USPS.. that way you all dont get killed by shipping.. i am going up there tonight and will talk to them some more and tell them your concerns
now if Viper and AC can get me the Regulation on the bars so we can make them conform to the SCCA and the NHRA spec that would be great....
i live in korea and i am here for you all remember that.... if you all need anything let me know

Looks good to me.
1. Within 6" of drivers head......check
2. Wider than drivers shoulders.......check
3. Above drivers head..........check
4. Cross brace for lateral collapse......check
5. Rear brace connecting within 5" of top of rollbar....check
6. Sidebar in required position....check
The only thing that needs to be done is weld the rear braces to the top of the main rollbar and to have 1 bar welded across the rollbar 4" below the drivers shoulders.
Bolting of the cage to the frame is ok.
For cars running 10's and lower, you can still use this setup as long as the stock body hasn't been modified.
