Rd2 Headlight Issue
is it just me or does the rd2 have poor low beam lighting because ive used basicly every brand of bulb that makes a h7 and they all shine about the same, the best were silverstars and my current xd5s.
im just wondering is there a way to improve lighting without going hid kit
i have alighned the headlights and adjusted them to spec
ive ran out of ideas other than trying to find some really bright fog/driving lamps for the car

when you say "Alighn them to spec" exactly what do you mean? WHen the lights on my RD1 are set up so that the factory bubble and alighnment are at zero.. they are aimed so close to the groun I cannot see more than fifty feet ahead of my car.
I beleive there is a DIY posted on how to properly align your headlights

many people have complained about the RD2 headlights sucking at spec. The DIY is good here, but I've just done the "adjust them until they shine far enough on the ground for your liking, and if people flash their highbeams at you, give the adjustment screw a quater turn to lower them, repeating the last step until you don't get flashed anymore..." technique.
well i ment spec as in towhere i can get the most light on the road
u know i do the whole aim car at a white wall
back up 20-25 feet from it
aim
drive around
just seems like either the beam itself sux or the headlight housing from the factory sux

Everyone says our lights are poor, but mine are great. I think most people simply have them aimed too low. There are plenty of sites that show you how to set up lights properly. The distance to park from a door or wall, and how high the top of your beams should be on said door or wall.
I'm using PIAA bulbs, which are pricey, but worth it. Substantialy brighter without upping the wattage.

I thought mine sucked too.... then I adjusted them.
I just parked my car about 10 ft behind another car and adjusted so my lights were like 8" under the top of the trunk (midsized car).
No one has flashed me.
