Well, I just put incandescent bulbs in and it still does not work. 02.gif Any other ideas? It quit working right after the trans swap and I put in the LED tails before that.

 

Clutch switch? There is a switch on the clutch pedal that lets the computer know when you press the pedal down. When you do so, it kicks the cruise off so you do not slam the engine into the rev limiter as it tries to accelerate as the car slows.

 

I had to disconnect it when I did the swap because of my remote starter. Does it need to be connected for the cruise to work?

 

actually.. there are TWO switches on the clutch. One is for the starter disable where the clutch has to go to the floor to engage the starter. The other is for the cruise. It works at the other end. The MOMENT the clutch pedal moves, it will disengage the cruise. I think it is located where the pedal sits when you are not pushing it down.

 

I remember two switches on the clutch. I disconnected the one for pushing the clutch down to start the car and hooked up the other one. With that one hooked up, my brake lights came on when I pushed down on the clutch so I disconnected it. I just went out there and reconnected it and the cruise still does not work. I'm at work now so I'll have to mess with it some more tomorrow.

 

that is odd that your brakes would come on when you pushed the clutch in. Sure you connected the correct switch?

 

Yeah, it's the only one that would fit. And it was the same color. I'm about to go out and look at it some more.

OK, so the switch on the clutch that is for the cruise is not getting power. Does the starter disable switch feed power to that one in any way? If it does, I guess it won't matter because I can't find the other end of that plug (the end coming from the car not the clutch). Would it be there since it was an auto? I would think it would because every other plug was there already. Anyway, I can't find that plug and the other plug is not getting power. Any ideas?? Could I just give that plug 12+V power and ground it? That way it would be getting power but I still wouldn't have to push the clutch to start.

 

well, I know that if you disconnect the starter interlock switch on the clutch.. the car will not start. You need to bridge the gap between the two wires.

 

Both switches on the clutch have been disconnected since the day after I finished the swap and it starts no problem. And what two wires do you mean?

 

Mad-Machine was talking about switch that is press by clutch peddle to start engine. There are two wires. To start engine without pressing clutch peddle you need to connect those two wires together.
