Problem With Reverse Lights

I have run across a very unique problem. I first thought that my reverse lights where out. So I went and purchased new bulbs. To my surprise, the bulbs where just fine. I did a little digging around and found a few people with the same problem who solved it by replacing the reverse switch found on the tranny. So, I replaced that. Now, my reverse lights are simply ALWAYS on when I turn on the key, reguardless of what gear I am in. Even neutral!! When I unplug the switch, they go out. So, as of now, my plug is taped up and I have no reverse lights, yet again.
Any thoughts as to what it may be. Could this just be another bad switch I got from the parts store?

LOL! I actually TRIED to put in backwards thinking that might solve it. You know, a "So easy, a Caveman could do it" thought! Nope, the plug will only seat in one direction, one way, so there's no way, even when I tried, to get in the wrong way.

Hmm, I'd try another switch, just to rule that out.
Did you double check the bulbs? There are several different #'s of bulbs that CAN fit back there, but won't work properly unless you have the right one.
I've done it before.
