Now that I got my alarm antenna in the side pillar, I find that it doesn't reach the alarm cpu/brain. Have you guys had to extend the antenna wiring? Is it just like extending your tv coaxial cable? I'm not sure if they sell unions for coaxial cable with width slightly less than 1/4".

extending your alarm antenna wont give you any more range... if you extend it 3 feet closer to you you will get 3 feet more range... thats it. its an am frequency so its short ranged!

it may not help normaly, but i think that the signal would have to go though more metal to get to the antenna if it was near the ecu. rather then on the A pillar where its like one layer of metal/plastic...

i really dn tho, im not that sure how am radio works rolleyes.gif

the antenna is on the top end of the windshield. I'm saying that the wire which connects to the actual alarm brain/cpu is too short; it doesn't reach the alarm so that I can connect it. So I need to extend that wire so that it reaches the alarm unit. Other than that, I stick the antenna on the bottom of the windshield, near the VIN plate.

I found out. yeah, you can increase the antenna coaxial. It's RG174 and they do sell couplers and connectors for it. If I can't find a local store that sells it, I'm ordering it online :-)
