Ok so im driving on the expressway to work @ 70 mph probally .25 throttle

and all of a sudden my car bucks and my rpms suddenly begin to fall
now im @60 mph i then give car full throttle nothing for about 2 seconds
then car regains itself

less than 5 min later
once again around 65-70mph less than .25 throttle
it happens again this time the rpms slowly drop along with my mph
60, 55, 50, .... all the way down to 40mph

during this i did the same thing floored it and nothing
so i downshifted to fourth nothing
third nothing .... until final regained life again

need some help

 

it kinda sounds like the same sort of thing m y car was going through. i took it to the shop and it threw an error code saying that my throttle was at 84% but my RPMS only measured 700 and my car wouldn't go faster...it just sat there for a bit before it regained itself

they said my throttle plate was dirty as hell....maybe go get that cleaned. here's the thread to what my car was doing:

I has something similar happen to me, it ended up being a loose connection somewhere in the engine bay.

 

what type of connection

 

could be alot of things, but sounds like you are running out of fuel for one reason or another.... either by somet type of blockage, bad pump, or a sensor vital to performing fuel delivery properly isnt functioning correctly.
Or it could be a dead/dying spark plug because that happened in my elantra.

Give us some more info on your car like mileage, maintenance performed and other stuff done recently to the car. and we might be of further assistance smile.gif

have not done anything to the car at all since IM was installed
I was running lean at that point

i changed the fuel filter last year
i changed the pump last year and there was no change so i put the old one back in

just picked up my MSD igntion system with blaster coil
could this possibly help

 

when was the last time you gave it a tune up?

 

changed plugs and wires probally 3 months ago

 

check the gapping of the plugs when you put them in? also run some fuel injector cleaner though it...

If you get a CEL check it out and see what it is.

 

ive been putting fuel injector cleanor in prob once a month
