How To Get 33 Mpgs. My Answer Inside.
This is my regime in 50 % Rush hour City Traffic / 50% Highway
1) Drive the car at 55 mph as much as possible in 5th. If you cant stay at 55, stay as close as possible. Don't exceed 60 mph. I used to drive at 70 +/- mph and never got more than 27 mpg.
2) Shift into higher gears between 2200-2700 rpms. Shift into 5th gear at 35mph.
3) I have an AEM CAI and Im sure that helps. (My car is a stick)
4) I dont accelerate hard too often. I also coast alot into my stops, often shifting to neutral.
5) I rarely use the AC unless its unbearable.
6) I stripped my car of all unnecessary weight
7) I have regular Exxon oil and use cheap 87 Oct gas.
Hope this helps u save

good all around hints.. even without stripping your car, you should get into the mid thirties doing that... remember, you CAN skip gears too.. if you are going into 5th at 35mph.. you can do go 1,2,3, and then 5... or even just 1,2, and 5
By stripped, I meant no text books, possessions, things just laying there. Not weight reduction techniques.
In the future, I might remove my rear seats, all the mats and maybe the spare?
That would save a bit I recon.

eh the rear seats are real light so it might not be worth it, but the spare tire helps, replace it with fix a flat so ur not totally risking it.
I do plenty of high throttle, low RPM and shifting much higher than 2700RPM (3500RPM is my usual shift point, 1st thru 3rd never see below 3200), and I still get 30-35mpg every time. nana.gif
My Answer to good gas mileage? Keep your car tuned up (fresh plugs, fresh wires, fresh filters, fresh oil). That matters more than almost anything else.

I get really abd milage on my tib (if im doing the calculations right - l/km and mil/gal).
I get 450km+ per tank (55L)
279 miles / 14.5 Gallon
= 19 miles/gal?
is this right? ive done tune up recently, so i pretty sure thats not it.

Are you saying skipping gears can help gas mileage? I've heard that from other people before but never understood how it can make any sense. The way I see it, there's a certain RPM and throttle % that will be most efficient, using all your gears only helps to stay in that range as much as possible.
