Didn't realize the ECU was at risk.

Have one more 30 mile drive to my friend's place to swap it out. Hopefully, nothing will fry.

Also, my battery is leaking acid in small amounts, probably due to the overcharging. I'm guessing that will need replacing soon?

Ok, just replaced the Alternator. Check engine light gone and the battery isn't "frying" anymore.

BUT the Air Bag Light is still on. I checked the fuse box but couldn't locate and Airbag fuse. What should I do?

EDIT: I searched around and found that my neighborhood Autozone might be able to help me reset the light with his code reader.

The only possible attempt you will have to reset the airbag light is to go to a dealer and get them to try and do it.

I had the EXACT same problem as you with the failure of my voltage regulator. My interior lights got very bright (brighter the higher the rpm), and my high beam bulbs burnt out, lol. My airbag light also came on and I determined by checking for resistance values of the airbag control module that it had been fried by the extremely high voltages it was exposed to.

So, I would recommend for you to go to the dealer and try to get the light cleared.

Please let me know if they could clear it, because I will kick myself in the ass if I could have just done that, lol.

Good luck. smile.gif

Nope, Autozone couldn't and wouldn't clear it. Guess it'll have to be several hundred $ at the dealer. 02.gif

pull the light, that's what i did wink1.gif lol. Just go in there, pull the instrument cluster and pop that light out. I don't think my air bags will work with the light on though. Dealer charges between $50 and $150 (in texas)

Got it taken care off at the dealer for no additional cost. I had my timing belt replaced by them.

After messing with your fuel filter, I think it would of been easier to change your timing belt....haha haha.gif
