I'm a MORON. I meant to say Air Bag, NOT ABS.

(Mods pls. fix if possible)

To reiterate, my Air Bag Light is on and today my check engine light came on. "Too much voltage being supplied"

I was at 17+ volts.

I bought a remanufactured Duralast Alternator. It is a 90 A capacity w lifetime warranty. Can anyone recommend any better?

definately your voltage regulator on the alternator. You need to swap alternators.

New questions:

1) I just bought a Remanufactured Duralast Alternator. Lifetime warranty apparantly?!? . If I hadn't, could I have swapped JUST the Voltage Regulator? Or is it built into the alternator?

2) Could this cause the belts to squeak? They started squeeking at the same time this happened?

3) Can I wait till this weekend to fix or will this damage anything?

Thanks guys

it can kill your battery, fry some fuses/relays

voltage regulator is in the alternator i think...better off replacing the entire thing you donno what kinda damage it could have done to the alternator

^^^ LOL. K-Rad.

Not only your fuses, but think about your ECU and all the little light bulbs in your dashboard.

a few bolts, a plug and a wire. when you put it back on, you have to tension the alternator... just get in there and look at it, it's pretty self explanitory.

It's not hard, takes maybe 45 minutes and someone to hold the alternator when you take it off and on.
