Gen3 V6 Delta Info...
Hey Random,
I kept hearing about how the main bearings and the crank go snap after 250 hp. I was wondering, are the guys over in Korea going to make replacement performance parts for the crank and bearings? If we could fix this I would be interested in if these car can be run with turbo to product 300-350 HP maybe reliable. Yes I know the I-4 can handle it, but to be honest I will have to buy this car new, and any modification like that will void the warranty. So I don't want to drive around for a couple of years wishing I had more power.

It doesn't matter if you turbo or supercharge the I4 or the V6, you will loose your warranty. There's no real point in waiting for a 10/100,000 warranty to wear out before modifing the car. Either engine is going to like mods a lot better around 5000 miles than 100,000 miles. What are the chances you are going to keep this car for 100,000 miles and THEN want to modifiy it?
Yes, there has been some discussion into making stronger crank main journals, however, this is no guarantee of performance. The crank itself or the block itself my be weak and give out 25 or 50 HP later...no one knows as the crank journal always goes first...and at this time, no one wants to be the tester and sink $1500 into a set of custom crank main journals only to have it go to hell because of a busted crank or cracked block. Given time, I'm sure SOMEONE will try it...and if they are successful, the parts will become available. If they try it, and the crank or block goes...then we will proabably never hear of it.
I've got the photos, but not time to edit them down. Hopefully if my mountain dew doesn't fail me...I'll get them up tonight, otherwise it will have to be friday or saturday.
