I would do Boost, EGT, Oil Pressure, and if you get a wideband - AF ratio.

you need a wideband sensor to read accurate AF ratios. the stock "narrowband" sensor only has two outputs; lean and rich. with the wideband, you can get an accurate reading of the exact AF ratio, instead of a rich or lean reading.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (tibby01)</div><div class='quotemain'>have you ever seen your stock water temp gauge idle at any other spot besides halfway and zero?

the thing only has like 3 different ranges, which it calculates to be low, medium, or high. not accurate at all.</div>

Thanks for bringing that up. As the owner of a pair of italian cars.. they have SUPER accurate water temp gages.. you would be surprised at how much the tempeture can vary as you drive. Even at idle, it will slowly climb until the fam kicks in or you step on the gas... the moment you raise the revs from idle, the temp in the engine drops as the coolant in the radiator is cooler and now flowing into the engine... I think 10 to 15 degrees is about the wide range most cars run.

stock sensor sucks... it is a narrow band.. meaning it only knows three positions.. Rich, lean, and just right.. there is NO gradiant between the extremes.

What is it the EGT???.....

i guess the gauge that are a must are the water temp guage, the boost ( of course if you have turbo ) oil pressure and if you got a wideband the A/F gauge.....

EGT.. exhaust Gas Tempeture... another way of telling what the turbo is doing.

Running lean will raise the temp, going rich will lowering it (or do I have that backwards for a turbo car?)

Some people prefer the EGT Gauge than the Air/Fuel gauge.....

But If we are talking that a person buy the "A" Tripple Gauge Pillar.... The Best gauge are Boost, Oil Temperature and Air/Fuel....

Maybe using the Split Second Air/Fuel ARM1, you will save space and get another gauge like Fuel Pressure or Water Temperature.....
