Well it depends where/how you drive, because when I said 27mpg, that was what I get usually driving around home, which is all back roads, windy twisty stop signs ever 300 yards (fun driving though). However, when I go on long trips from here, like to visit my sister in Syracuse, I was getting just under 35mpg, I think it was about 34.5 or 34.6...but there's other times when i use my tank up just tearing around these back roads gunning it and whatnot..."driving spirited"...and I'll get as bad as 25mpg.

Sea level must be nice!! bastards..

I get around 23, sometimes 24 mpg on 87 octane AVG (city & highway).. I need another motorcycle ;/ Gas is up to 2.51/gallon for 87oct.. Upwards of 2.80 for premium in places (91oct) and its going up daily (we jumped 15 cents in less than a week)..

And to the post above, sorry but I gotta call bs on you and anyone else pulling 34+ MPG.. Im sorry, but I dont see how that is possible.. Our cars are rated at like what? 21mpg city 24mpg highway for a manual? Something close to that.. With my wife driving the tib ALL highway, constant speed, she never gets more than around 27-28 mpg TOPS..

How many miles are you getting on a trip/fill up gallons? Maybe your math is wrong 02.gif

I actually tested it with two different driving styles. Conservative (shifts @ 3k... as conservative as I get tongue.gif ) I got 29mpg. Driving the car hard (shifts @ 5k) I still got 26mpg. I don't know why its like that, guess its running uber rich already.

Easy driving on my Corvette/GSX I might get 20mpg... If I drive it hard I'm lucky to get into the tens LOL laugh.gif

Well I filled up before I left, reset my trip odometer, got to syracuse, drove home on the same tank, filled up and it took 12 gallons, and the trip was about 410 miles...I dunno why, that's the way it worked out...and our cars are rated 21 city, 30 highway...

I think I saw somewhere posted on this site in the past that your fuel economy nosedives after about 72mph...

72mph is about where I start dipping below 30mpg.

My best however was from Ocean City NJ to Avon NC (on the outerbanks) about 353 miles... I did it on less than three quarters of a tank at a steady 50mph the whole way. I think the overall average when I finally filled it up was close to 475 miles on the tank and around 40mpg
