Extra Buttons in the dash...
On the RD1 the only blank I am unsure of is the upper left.. I know the middle is for the rear fog lights and the bottom is for the fronts.. I have heard that the upper left blank might be for the heated seats option.
And no REDZ, the switches are not interchangable from right to left on the first gen.. they are shaped to fit the curve of the dash instead of being a circle.

I think the heated switches are on the center console... as the ones being sold in the GB...
But they could be for some weird options a few markets get (I don't know if in the Hyundai lineup) like headlamp wipers, mirrors defrosters, and so on...

on my rd2 I used a factory fog switch on the left side (i don't have fogs) for my neons. looks nice, waaay better than the previous toggle switch laying on the floor

REDZ, they are NOT interchangeable on RD1, all six buttons must snap in to housing where they are supposed to go, I tried. Not like RD2.
As for wiring, I'm no electrical expert by any means (I having trouble replacing a darn shorted fuse! haha, it's more complicated tho...) but I would think all you have to do is order a real button from factory (Hyundai) and find out which wires are power/ground behind the dash. Then take power/ground from neons or whatever and tap into button power/ground. That way when button is depressed neons come on...there's probably more to it though, listen to tibby01 or anyone else besides me, because I'm not even sure of myself ,lol.

^^^ Easiest way is to run a continuity test using a ohm meter. Find the two that make a circuit when pressed, and stops when depressed. Or, you can take it appart and see how it works wink1.gif .
