Default Easy Performance

I've got an '01 Tib that I bought about 8 months ago. Only 56k miles (10k of which I've put on since I bought her) and she runs pretty good, no problems I know of. I love my little Tib. I only have basic mechanical knowledge and all of that is learned from 70's MOPARs. EFI and fancy electronics are foriegn to me.

Anyways, now that I have the backstory out of the way, how easy would it be to add little performance mods like headers, CAI, BBTB, etc? Basically, are these mods truely "bolt-on"? I'm uncomfortable with cutting holes in things. I don't go the track (no track to go to 02.gif ) and I just want to add a little of that power I'm used to with american muscle cars.

And please refrain from flaming me, I know I'm an idiot. loser.gif

The question is how much money? If you have enough, go turbo!

All the bolt-ons that you listed are, as called bolt-ons. if you know how to operate a wrench and a screw driver, you are in business.

Intake, Header, Throttle Body, etc. are all essentially bolt on and go. Bolt-ons like this aren't much different then if you did it with a '60s car. Metric socket set, your favorite lucky socket, some wrenches, and an impact gun and you can do anything bolt-on.

Funny you should mention this as there is a Group Buy going on for the most popular and proven Bolt-ons, the Airram Intake Manifold. Check it out in the Group Buy sub-forum.

I wish we could see some of the gains that the "muscle cars" see from simple bolt-ons. But you'll enjoy Intake/Headers/Exhaust, especially if you get in on the Airram GB too.

Get a cold air intake, that's probably the easiest bolt on mod. In the meantime, take off all the tubing and resonators going up to your filterbox (don't remove the filterbox!)

That AirRam GB would be killer... It's days like this i curse my low-pay profession. But thanks for the feedback guys, I've had problems with so called "bolt-ons" with my '74 Dodge Dart despite the large ammount of parts avaliable. I especially had concerns about the BBTB. I really don't want to screw up a throttle body.

As a little side question, what's the highest speed anybody's got a Tib up to? I've only ever taken my stock Tib up to 110mph (not enough road, too many cops). mugshot.gif
