Do I need a special tool to remove the oxygen sensors?
Title says all. Im replacing them and was wondering if a special tool is needed to get them out.

Normally they're in there pretty tight due to the heat. I bought one of those O2 sockets and I don't think they cost that much from autozone. It's worth having.

I used a cut-down open end wrench (cut so it would be turn-able in the engine bay) and about 4 hours of sitting with penetrating oil on it.

With the O2 socket above, you can use an 18" breaker bar and take 5 seconds to get it off. That's how I got both of them off. No penetrating oil either.

If you want to pay for the socket or go somewhere they have one, that's great. I had the wrench and oil at work. I sprayed it first thing and removed/reinstalled the sensor at lunch, then went to the dealership after work. In my book, a $0 solution beats even having the right tool, if you can get the job done.

They're like $8 and Autozones are everywhere. I like tools, especially when they're that cheap.
