like everyone is saying i think thats the bottom of the filter...
ok here's how i did mine and maybe it will help you.
1. disconnect battery (don't want any accidents)
2. remove the top line and everything in the way to work on it. (you'll need a rag cause there is going to be fuel leaking)
3. remove driver side tire and inner fenderwell
4. you should be able to easily see the filter/inlet line now...i'm thinking it's a 14 mm nut. (a line wrench first or in a rough spot vise grips will save you)
5. remove the line from the bottom of the filter (yes, much easier said than done)
6. undo the bracket and remove the filter.
7. reverse process except i'd suggest putting it back in the bracket last. then tightening the nuts more.
edit: when i did this the first time i seriously took everything apart like 3 times before my brother-in-law who's a mechanic helped me out and had the idea to go in through the fenderwell. oh and be careful with the o-ring on the out fuel line i mangled mine and ended up leaking fuel for a day before i realized it (it only leaked at 1/4 throttle when the pressure spiked)

I've got a new filter but if it's this much of a PITA to change it, maybe I should have it done eh?
How much you think it'll cost?

Show us a pic of the other end of the new filter. It should look the same as the one on your car with a hole for the fuel line and one for the bolt.

You must think I don't check out it's other side?? LOL
Here's a pic to proof what I am saying.

LEFT SIDE OF THE FILTER FROM PIC ONE ( TOP OF FILTER ) Hexagon...
RIGHT SIDE OF THE FILTER FROM PIC ONE ( BOTTOM OF FILTER ) Hexagon...

I'm heading to the dealership to ask them If monkeys grab their parts for them...

That's definitely a problem. See what the dealer has to say.
I think I paid an hours labour at the dealer to have mine changed so about $75 CDN. Not too bad to save a truckload of hassle.
