Alpine Turbo 35-80mph Vid
I couldn't justify spending the extra money to buy it from Alpine, I'll make my own piping, have plenty of spare intercoolers from friends, blowoff valves too.
I'll piece it together once I get the chance, probably make my exhaust same time.

-how hard it it to maintain?
-are you on stock internals? is it safe for a long time?
-are you scared of something breaking or misfiring?
congratulations on money well spent.

- Maintenence, its not bad as long as you take the time to install it correctly the first time. I've only done a few things different than normal, pulled the plugs to check them occasionally, make sure all the couplers are on tight so you don't blow one off change the oil a little more often. Nothing major.
- Yep I'm on stock internals with a relatively weak motor compared to most people here (I'm getting 185 in all 4 cylinders, course even numbers more important than the actual height of numbers (carbon buildup can inflate compression numbers) and I was using a 40 year old compression gauge. tongue.gif). Is it safe? I've put 400-500 miles on it no problems et. lmao.gif
- Naw. I had a few issues to start with, I had the fifth injector wired wrong so it wasn't firing. Of course I'm going by feel on this project at the moment (no gauges ftw laugh.gif ... so I'm assuming im running 8psi anyway lmao.gif) and knew that something was wrong once I hit around 2.5psi (when the fifth injector first starts to fire). I've misfired twice since I've gotten the injector fixed. Once, directly after, which I contribute to the ECU/Unichip learning how the fifth injector works together and a second time in first gear, which was probably caused by a loose coupler. I haven't had any misfires for a week, no CELs, etc. No detonation or anything, the plugs, the knock sensor, and my ears don't lie. smile.gif
The overall install was easy, the wiring gave me some issues but thats because I really didn't have any experience with wiring up to now at all. I've sodered a few wires, but I've never messed with something as important as an issue. Having to work in that limited space with those wires that close together was tough. Frankly, I was surprised it started right up after install. laugh.gif

I'll try and dig up one, I now have a lot of friends that are upgradingn their setups and have a lot of parts laying around the garage that they don't need and I can get for cheap. cool.gif
