I am scared of loosing my bonnet at high speeds laugh.gif ,so I want to install hood pins/fasteners., I have a set of these now AEROCATCH, but the RD's bonnet is so contoured I don't believe they will mount flush?, Does anyone here use these?,or have any other suggestions? I was hoping to stay away from the round chrome ones with the rings, just wouldnt look right imo.any suggestions and or pics of pins installed on a RD bonnet would be nice,Thanks!
i got them as well. if you have a heat gun you can get the flange to contour to the hood, just takes time.
i mounted my pins alot differently than DTN or Gsasha did and i got furthur down the hood then they did near each front corner. I made L-shaped brackets to put my pins in and then used some holes that were already in the core support right behind the headlights. I don't know what goes there but they were open and provided the exact place for where i wanted them to be.
here are some pics:

sorry i dont have a pic of the hood on the car with the pins on, never took one.

Thanks for the info.I dont know about the l bracket thing,I would have to remove a lot os shit to get in there..and Redz, after being here 5 years, the searches are 2 slow and usually turn up nothing i want to see, when I want a quick answer.,stop raggin!...,so I did'nt search first this one time..geesh!, shoot me! sigh.gif
ok, now that I had the time to search,I found the info which was covered before...I wanted to know before I pay my buddy for them tomorrow,...I like the Idea of using a heat gun to mold them better!,that's what sold me on them. Sorry redz 'Ill be a better searcher next time fing02.gif

No worries, lots of folks don't know the search engine got fixed last month.
LOL
I learned from this thread too. These haven't been covered a ton, so it's not a HUGE deal.
If I weren't a dick, who would be?

So ,Everything was going fine.I was taking pics and all for a diy , when all of a sudden I noticed that the aerocatch latches I have are flush mounted! Attachment 639, so I was installing them in relatively the same place DTN has them,on the outside of my cf Attachment 640,but I would have to mount them from the inside ,which would be about 1/4 " away from where it would fit!,dammit., because its too close to where the under sleleton meets the lip of the hood, and I dont want to add pin brackets , also I dont think it would look too flush coming up through onto a rounded surface,so I since the pin,and bottom of the hood holes (never touched the top)are already done,I'm gonna roll with these,NRG locking cf pins Attachment 641. If I can get em., I think these will look good on the vis hood!?
