Hi Guys,

So I have just acquired my Tib(yesterday), and I am really enjoying it, as well as learning it.

So I've got this alarm/remote starter installed on it already, but the odd thing is, is that the door-locks don't lock and unlock when I arm/disarm the alarm.

Is key-less entry not possible on my 2001 Tiburon SE?

If it was an OEM unlock system, it should open. You could have some burned out door lock actuators though. I've had to replace mine 2 times.

Well, if I unlock the drivers side door with the key, both door locks open.

I have the same issue. I think my alarm wasn't set up to open the door locks though. And sometimes to get both locks to lock, I have to lock the driver's side door 2-3 times till teh passenger's side catches.

So the passenger one works. You should take your door panel off and see if there is one on the drivers side. The driver side ones are aftermarket if I remember correctly. I spoke wrong earlier. If you get one installed and wire it to your alarm to open, yup, it'll unlock. That's what mine does.

Okay, I just wanted verification.

I am pretty sure mine wasn't wired up properly. Gotta tear that sucker down this weekend and wire it up right.

Thanks again.

I remember when I got my tib back in 2005, the doors wouldn't open/close w/ the stock alarm control. Only when I actually installed my alarm in 2008 did I find out that the 2 wires (green and blue) connector was disconnected from the alarm computer. You may wanna check that. The remote door connector is in the kickpanel and comes out from above the fuse panel (that's pretty much the location where the stock alarm computer - Clifford - was at).

if its an RD tib then it has something called central locking. what it does is when you manually unlock or lock the drivers side door it will do the same to the passanger door. in order to have the locks workin on your aftermarket alarm and or starter you need to install an actuator in the drivers door and it will operate BOTH doors.

Thanks! That's exactly what I needed to know. How would I connect the alarm to the driver's side actuator?

Usually you would just get an actuator (I have this one http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...oductId=2501503 ), mount it in the door so that it pushes onto the lock arm, and wire it to the alarm. You usually need to find the wiring diagram for the alarm to know exactly how to wire it.

Check the12volt.com for info on wiring stuff.
