Nah, it's just debate, folks talking about what they know. I've learned a lot about the MS and the FIC from this thread. I'm actually looking at info on both right now.

The fic works like you said for the MS. You put in larger injectors then tell the fic the old size and the new size. Then it scales down the injectors automatically.

Im jus scared that if I go the route of the FIC that I will have a wiring nightmare like silver_bullet did. Nasty. But the main thing Im looking for is 2 step for some odd reason I want that so bad. The MS I believe can run any kind of injector, not sure if the FIC can tho. I mean if someone here is willing to help me hook up a the FIC if I got one, I would feel loads better. Does it matter if your using the good 1.8 ecu if you go the FIC route?

2 step is for those that lack skill ;P
Instead of you having to hold the gas at a certain point you just floor it and let the comp do it for you. Not essential but if you want it that's definitely a plus for the MS then.

any pin side plug for the ecu will work, the wire side plug is the one that matters when making a plug and play harness. since a 1.8l ecu is pnp with a 2.0l tiburon i would assume all the wires are in the same spot and it would work.

Yeah I know the 1.8 and 2.0 ecu's are intechangable. I was jus wondering if the good 1.8 ecu would still yield results with a piggyback, compared to the stock 2.0. Yeah I know 2 step is for not having skill, but oh well I jus like the sound of it really. I shouldnt base everything off of that now should I?

1.8ecu just has a bit leaner maps for WOT. It wont matter since you can tune the maps in the FIC however you want.

but since other people who have the FIC running good, have it on the 2.0 ecu, i would just stick to that to avoid any unexpected issues

2 step serves a purpose in boosted applications. It allows you to build boost before even leaving the line.

Who said anything about backfire. what you hear is fuel cut, which is set at a desired rpm.
