In regards to the fic and launch control; It can do it in theory but I havn't tried it out.
It has a feature where you can connect a switch to the fic and switch between maps. If you connect the fic to the clutch switch so that when the clutch is in all the way it switches to a map that cuts fuel above certain rpms.

When you let out the clutch it should switch back to the normal map and allow you to take off. Again in theory it does but I have no idea if it works in practice.

As discussed in the KFX forum, we are making this thing as inexpensive as we can.

Some points to consider>

The new MS unit uses automotive type wire and plugs.

To enable us to get to plug and play, we need to buy a used ecu that typically runs about $50 by the time it is shipped to our assembler. I also pay for someone to put these together.

If you want to buypass these two steps, then get the assemble yourself version. You can use your own extra ecu and we will supply the information to do it yourself.

This puts you into a closer price range to the FIC. It also gives you the versitility to change just about everything.

It actually took me about 10 minutes tuning time to set the parameters for my car before I was driving it.

I changed the things i needed to for setup. They included throttle position sensor and injector size and my desired A/F ratio.

Once this was completed, the car started and has been returning me better performance and mileage right out of the box.

I have not seen or used the FIC unit simply because I wanted to make this plug and play.

While I do not have issues with wiring in and soldering wires. I like the fact that i can swap ecus in less than 30 seconds and be running stock or ms.

Bill

You can run the MS as a piggyback also, that is completely true, but it's kinda like buying a 1080P TV and using it on a standard def signal.

LOL

To do it, you wouldn't get the PnP version, youd get the finished "wire it yourself" version, which is also sold preset for the beta engine, and wire in what you want to control, just like the FIC. You'd still have OBDII this way.

Base FIC 6- $440
Base MS - $600

Both need to be wired yourself, not a bad difference between them considering standalone vs piggyback

And now that bhurlin has check in, how can he promote the MS, yet you banned SOCKS for just listing the differences between the two and giving his opinion?

I think he does it by typing.

Yup, he does.

Look guys, if we need your help moderating the site, we'll promote you or ask for your help.

Socks isn't banned, he got a 4 day suspension for his warning level hitting 40%, as per the site rules. He didn't get warned for posting the differences, he got warned for editing his previous post to add more information, to try to get around not posting again as he was told. BHURLIN is a VENDOR on this site, SOCKS IS NOT. SOCKS has pulled his vendor status himself, deleted or edited all of his threads previous vendor threads to remove data (hmm, Tim did this and was BANNED, and Nate went off on him for it, but it's okay for him to do it?), and personally stated "I do not want to advertise on RDT". We have NOT removed his signature, or said anything about his constant advertising in the shoutbox/forums, his tech talk in the shoutbox since his return from being banned from the shoutbox for it either. He hasn't been warned for recruiting members here for his site either. It has built up and I've had enough, as have some of the rest of the staff. The game is over.

I hope my explanation is perfectly clear, and I'll clarify with the staff if they want him advertising at all here anymore.

On the FIC, will the 6 work for a dual injector setup or do you need the 8? A lot of the specs for both of these are over my head.

Well thanks for the claification.

The FIC 6 has 6 injectors channels, the 8 has 8. imagine that.

But you can run just higher cc primaries with no dual rail and still get a good tune with the 6.

No need for 5th injector(lol) or dual rail. I also understand that the MS is the same way though

Yeah, I was avoiding dual rails for sure.

I wasn't sure what they meant by injector channels. I was thinking one channel for each bank of injectors, but your clarified it to me.

For the MS, if you put in bigger injectors, you just note it in the tuning information, and let it burn a new map for you. Kinda cool. Of course you still need to do the fuel pump, FPR, etc.

Well you can use the 6 to drive a dual rail if you wanted to. The point i was trying to make is that you dont need a dual rail and you can decrease injector pulse width for better control on bigger injectors

RED ZMAN and Sea Ray Tech we are going to put you in a room together to fight this one out . J/K. This is funny to me this is coming down to the knit picking of individual features . It's like "oh yeah well mine does this !"........... " oh yeah well so does mine and it changes color while it does it too!" RED ZMAN you MEGASQUIRT and Sea Ray Tech you FIC K. There all is settled. I got an idea create a poll on the home page or elsewhere and lets see how many ring-in for each and then we'll go from there.
