IF you don't feel like reading my problem and wanna cut to my question scroll to below double-dotted line.
PROBLEM:
I removed my old crappy clogged, broken fuel injectors...
I installed "new-ish" stock 2.0L fuel injectors (in my 1.8L tib).
NOTE: I have r-side Throttle Body installed
I unplugged a LOT of stuff to make room for the fuel injector swap (like spark plug wires at the coil pack, tube that runs to IAC accuator, air intake at the elbow to TB connection, that black sensor on the throttle body, all electical wiring to fuel injectors, etc. etc.
All this done with battery disconnected.
I made damn sure to connect everything before replacing battery connection and attempting to start car.
Car started fine. (and immediately, meaning the fuel injectors are GOOD! my old ones made the car crank a few times befoe starting).
But the car immediately started to increase in rpms up to 2200rpms in neutral (my foot is not touching ANY pedals). I thought maybe Throttle cable got messed up when I moved it out of the way during fuel injector install...so I turn car off. Re-adjust throttle cable, so it is "somewhat" taught it the full retracted position of the throttle body. Gave the cable some tugs and watched the throttle body move...fine.
...reset ECU once again.
started car, same thing, very high idle.
other symptoms:
when shifting out of 5th, 4th, whatever into neutral (WHILE CAR IS NOT MOVING) the car will loose rpms down to about 1700 then jump back up again to 2100-2200 and stay there. NOTE: I'm not touching acc. pedal.
When I'm moving like 45mph and I shift into neutral the car will fluxuate between 1500rpms and 2200rpms back and forth until my speed decrease to an almost stop, then it will jump to 2100-2200 rpms and stay there.

for the slackers;
I can't stand this high idle, ...I need to fix this ASAP.
I checked webtech for a picture of where an idle screw would be to adjust the idle lower than what it is now. Webtech told me all 97-98 tiburon TPS sensors cannot be adjusted.
FOR IDLE SWITCH:
refer to page AT-42 in the Shop Manual...
I don't have one...

can ANYONE post a picture of where an idle screw would be? Does my r-side Throttle Body have an idle screw? It's the chrome one (61mm) off kspec.com I believe.
any help ASAP is appreciated. You get an oatmeal cookie overnighted. wink1.gif

the idle screw on the TB is at the bottom of the throttle wheel.... check that and also check your throttle cable adjuster nuts above the manifold to make sure the wire has enough slack to allow full closure of throttle.....
I had a similar problem on my Tib. Our cars are computer controlled so adjusting the "idle screw" can be a bad idea. Most of the time you will find that it is your idle control valve that has gone bad. It costs about $120 from Napa and should clear up the problem. Good luck.

No way did something go bad. This only started to happen right after fuel injector install.
...meaning,I foocked something up.
I think I just found out too...
this is the TPS sensor (on all stock/aftermarket TB's).

it's help onto the TB with two screws and plugs into the car's electrical emissions system.
I unplugged this and unscrewed it during my fuelinjector swap. When I screwed it back on I lost a screw and it's only held on by one screw.
I don't see why that would cause problems, it's not like air flows through there or anything...and it's on there REAL tight.
I'll get another screw and tighten it down. reset ECU and see what happens.
WEBTECH SAYS:
Except when necessary for replacement, the throttle position sensor must not be removed
But when I installed new r-side throttle body (actually IQforeva installed it, thatnks bro fing02.gif ), we removed TPS and re-installed on r-side TB with no idle problems..
anyone have experiences like this with TPS?

yeah! I have the same problem. I had to get a new TP sensor but ever since my idle is always high. It goes down after the car heats up though. But when I first start it up its over 2000 rpms. I couldnt figure out where the idle screw was either, I have the same throttle body. Its annoying but Ive been living with it.
^^^ Thats normal for a car to idle high until it heats up. Basically, the car is heating up the oxygen sensor so that it gathers true readings. Once warmed up, it will drop back down to normal idle (~700-800 rpms).
It seems like patreezy's is high all the time. I would bet on that screw though. It might be tight, but it might be off a hair.

please tell me where that screw is!!!!!!!!!!
lol, that's the point of this thread. I don't know where it is. A member explained to me it was under some white cap or something but that's on a STOCK TB, I have an aftermarket R-side 61mm TB....where is the screw on that.
If no one answers, I'll take pics of it from all angles (except under it, that could get hard), and see if anyone can point it out.
The only "screw" I see is a big ass bolt coming out of the throttle body...like 15-16mm. I don't know what that does.
Also, when adjusting idle? Should I have the car on in neutral? or turn car off, and just guess and check?
IQforeva you were the previous owner, help me out holmes?
