Someone mentioned their 240sx and their Si are MAF -- I don't know about the 240, but the Si is definately NOT MAF. All the Si's ever sent to the states (this includes WAY back in the day) were all MAP equipped. Thus, your 2001 Elantra air metering device may not be in the same location as the Si one, but it works the same way.

In any case, there are lots of pros and cons when considering MAF versus MAP.

MAF actually reads how much air is going into the motor, MAP takes a guess based on vacuum. MAP doesn't impede airflow, MAF does. MAF sensors have to be VERY close to the throttle body for proper throttle response, MAP sensors are just a vacuum line attached anywhere to the intake manifold -- you could mount it to your trunk spoiler and it would work the same.

MAP sensor on a stock BETA, likely the same as the Honda/Acura ones, will throw a check engine light if they ever see positive pressure (boost). MAF cars don't see boost, so until you max out the sensor itself, it never gives a damn how much "boost" may be present.

There's a ton of others, but I'm lazy and don't feel like typing them all out wink.gif If I get ambitious, I'll post a link to FXTreme where I wrote a hugeass "article" on the subject.
