1) Is smoke coming out of your tail pipe?
2) The water pump is in that area, is the car hot when this "smoke" appears?
3) are you finding your coolant low, could be hot coolant vapor ascaping.

Just saw the 10psi oil pressure thing, could be the oil pump, lets hope. Does the psi drop after it warms or is it at 10 psi when started cold. Now I said "lets hope" cause my moms Firebird had the low oil psi in idle once it warmed up, revving brought the pressure up a bit, about to 20 psi. It has bad rod bearings

when started jumps to 55-60...Psi drops after warming or driving around the neighborhood for like 5-10mins
Bad valve seals typically smoke when motor is started.
Bad piston rings smoke when motor is running.
Pull your spark plugs and see if one of them is different than the others, could have a cracked ring.
Do you see any contaimination in the oil? Like water/antifreeze? It usually shows up as muddy brown color, if so could be a bad head gasket/cracked head.
Does the smoke out the tailpipe disappear when it comes out like steam or does it hang around and stink like burnt oil?
Does it smoke more when your driving it or only at an idle?
These are tough to guess at if you can't see it doing it first hand.

Ill check the plugs when I get back from Dc..but when I fixed my coolant leak.the tank is a muddy color but I flushed it and replaced it.
And my oil looks good but I was also down 2 qts
The smoke out of tailpipe steams..but I did the paper test and spots of oil show up when the paper is held towards the smoke..and it smokes more at idle not driving
Srry for the questions..I kno a lil more then basic about cars but still learning from this site and books..after this fix ill post pics up and my future plans
