I have this friend who just bought a 1995 eclipse gsx turbo with some aftermarket features. He is putting out about 300hp to the wheels. Told me that a tiburon would not be able to hang with the big boys. What would i have to do to shut him up and put him in his place. Any feed back is good.

Thank you

you would HAVE to go forced induction. and then still he has awd so good luck keeping with him.

Not only that but 300whp would require upgraded engine internals as well (unless you like blowing up engines).

All in all a lot more $$ than just getting a more powerful car haha. Your friend was pretty much right lol unless you have a lot of cash to throw around

the upside to boosting a tibby is the fact that it is a completely aftermarket turbo setup. anyone can make an eclipse, wrx, srt4, basically anything already turboed fast. i think being different is one of the upsides to working on a tib, but its up to you.

take a look at this, noting in particular this line
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The only thing done to the motor is some tigerlilly pistons. Everything else is stock!!</div>

first thing to do, with a 98, would be a compression test. enter "compression test" with the quote tags in the search box and check it out. then there is the question of money too. how much are you willing to spend?
