I actually think that stock tiburon with a good driver should do anything very close to 16.1- 16.2 . I never run my car stock at the track, but with very minor mods I was able to get 15.7.

Its' possible,if he lightens up the car, but for a budget of a grand, it will be pretty tough if he could break into the 14's N/A. BUT like OP said, if he's a good driver, he might be able to. An AirRam by iteself costs $599. The cheapest mandrel bent exhaust right now is KRD for $250. he might be able to get a used AEM out there for around $100. A SSA or OBS header costs around $150. You've gone over a grand with just that

If you have a little mechanical inclination, you might be able to pull a 14.9 with n/a for under a grand... But you'd have to be a good mechanic with a good shaped Tibby at a good track with good driving skills... and you might manage it tongue.gif

You could run I/H/E/BIM/BTB for $550.00 if you bore the stock throttle and manifold. 425.00 for the header-back SSA on ebay, and 75 for that cheap CAI on ebay as well or make your own then slap a K&N on the end of it. That leaves 250 for an Air/fuel controller of some sorts... maybe redo the stock grounds as well for like 50. That might get you to 15 even depending on your area.
