Default What 4G63?

Ok, I'm gonna swap a 4G63 in my 98 Elantra. Yeah I know it doesn't bolt in and everything but I can't find a damn Beta in this country so I'll go 4G63. So what type of 4G63 should I put in? What is the best kind of 4G63 (besides EVO motor)?

You have to go EVO, because it has to face the proper direction when you swap it. A "normal" 4G63 that would fit in a turbo Eclipse would be a severe pain in the *** ...

As to which EVO engine to use, I dunno. Pick a number between three and seven wink

I was wondering, why does it have to face the 'right' way? Why not swap a 'normal' 4G63?

BTW, last time I checked, an EVO 4 front cut costs around $4000 here. I can only afford a 'normal' turbo 4G63 ($1000). Besides, installation at my bro's friend's shop is only at $300.

He has a point. you should not need to make it face the correct way.

I mean wether its a Evo engine or a normal 4g63. You will sitll need to fabrivate some parts.

Yes its easier with the Evo since the tranny is on the driver side.

But if he got a normal 4g63 with the tranny on the passenger side. They hace factory cars like that.

so the brake pedal and clutch and other things should transfer right over.

So what should I look for/do in swapping the engine in?

Well, in the US, when you are facing the front of the car, the driver side is on the right.

so the transmission is on the right.

the 4g63 in the US has its transmission on the left (elcupse, galant, few otherS)

The lance evolution, have their transmission on the right.

so, is your driver side, right or left when facing the car?

Same as you guys, we're Left Hand Drive here too. The driver's side here is at the right when facing the front of the car.

Soooo... what was your point there?
