Awesome. Nice projects. smile.gif
There are a lot of ways to make an Accent very fast since they're so light to begin with.
Lowest budget would be slapping a turbo on the Beta. It's good for probably 400-450hp before it would have been cheaper to switch to something else.

Is that with aftermarket pistons, rods and crankshaft for the 400-450hp? What will the stock pistons. rods and crank hold? I have read that the rods and crank are steel, but the pistons are about 10 to 1 compression is that true? I was planning on changing the pistons to 8.5 to 1 but leaving the stock rods and crank, doing some headwork just small port and a lot of polish, have not found cams yet that the grind is for a turbo and was going to use an EVO style turbo not sure which one yet. Then cam gears light-wieght pulleys etc.
As far as manual trans goes is the tiburon and elantra trans the same? If not which one is better for the Beta I motor? The clutch will be whatever meets the HP level. I was going to use tiburn axles I have read that they need to be shortened. I will use a stand-alone ECU since it will be turboed I do not think a stock ECU will be able to get the full power out. The only other thing I can think of is a locking diff, but not sure that will like the street, might have turning problems.

The Tiburon and Elantra were basically the same car with different skin. The crank I think is good to ~600+HP and the rods are forged, but there are beefy replacements available, I don't recall what power the stock rods will hold. The pistons are happy over 300HP but at 450 you're probably well advised to use forged lower compression pistons. You might want to seriously consider a push clutch conversion at that power level also; much-stronger mitsubishi eclipse clutch parts are available after converting to push-style.

The CR is about 10:1 stock.
The pistons should be replaced if you want to exceed 300hp by much. I don't have a solid number for when you need to replace the rods either, I personally would do it if I was going for over 350hp, but they would probably hold 400hp fine. I know a lot of people on her are far more knowledgeable about the Beta than I am so hopefully they can chime in with the suggested power level for swapping out the rods.
The stock cams are pretty good for boost actually.
The transmissions are the same between the J2 Elantra and the RD/RD2 Tiburon. The XD Elantra transmission is almost the same, but the design has been refined somewhat over time. Several different gear ratios and final drive ratios are available though. I'll have to find and upload the spreadsheet showing different gear ratios.
Either a standalone (There is a plug and play Megasquirt available) or the Beta ECU with a piggyback like the AEM FIC would work fine.

Thanks for the info again, yall are very helpful. I am making an list of what all I need for the swap so I can start ordering parts. I do not like to order parts as I go I rather have almost everything first.
Thanks
Thanks
