Default Beta tranny with Alpha engine

I know the beta engines bolt up to the alpha trannys but does it work the other way too? Does the alpha engine bolt up to a beta tranny?

i think you'd be sweating it in terms of mounts and axles. the transmission -should- bolt up, buuut then your diff will be in a different spot, as will be the position of three mounts.

the difference in strength between the two trannies is very low, the beta is only 33% more powerful than the alpha, plus its FWD so most of the load goes through the tyres rather than your transmission.

hahaha i'm not hating guys, i'm doing a beta swap myself.

but seriously, 1/3rd of the power out of an sohc alpha isn't really alot in the scheme of things.

i have to agree with JonGTR. 1/3 is a signifigant increase.
however 1/3 of nothin is still nothin so wheel_of_steel in the end your also correct.
