Tossing one of the Hyundai V8's under the hood would make more sense than the V6, to me at least...

385hp and 333lb-ft torque...

V6 Accent!

I agree, a turbocharged beta would be best.

I bet that accent is quick as f*ck on the straight aways, 170 hp in that lil car. If you can take care of the extra weight with beefier suspension you may get it to handle decent. Seen those pics before and it doesnt look to be much more work then a beta swap, only with less room.

It's not all that much more weight, less than couple hundred pounds if I recall correctly.

People have put deltas into accents and elantra XDs, I think it'd be very possible to swap a delta into an RD.

It'd best be an opportunistic swap, like if you had found a smashed GK for cheap. I would actually like to see the swap done though, a delta in an RD1 just seems right to me.

Id slap the v-6 in my accent if i could get a good price on one... some people live in states that dont allow you to just slap on a turbo. I noticed a huge jump in power going from my 1.5L alpha to 2.0 beta 2, I suspect going from beta to delta would be well worth it. Beta 2 136 h.p. to the Delta's 170ish HP

I agree with ya mang. It's gonna be a LONG time until I'll find a reasonably-priced GK though. The cheapest used examples are still selling for well over 10k. Another place to look is the EF2 sonata, if you can find a manual V6 you can have yourself a 2.5 delta with a 5 speed for way less money.

What I really want is a factory turboed theta engine... its gunna be a loooong time before those are fairly reasonable in price. Being factory turbo I would be able to swap it in and have it legalized like I did the beta swap here in Cali.
