Hyundai Genesis Coupe vs Arrow
im... speechless.. kinda..
What was the point of it?
Why was the last portion OBVIOUSLY computer generated? if not, some interesting camerawork..
How is the Gcoupe faster than an arrow if it got up to 'speed' before the arrow left the bow?
All they would have needed to beat the arrow is calculate the speed the car had to be at during the 'start' of the race to beat the arrow.. in theory, any car that could hit XXX speed could be faster than an arrow, no?
ford focus going 110mph at the start point would probably beat the arrow too..

Depends on the bow I guess.
Compounds with a lighter arrow can get up to 300+ fps = 200+mph
Recurves are about 150fps on average (based on a few min of google), putting them right around socks 105-110mph marker. MY HD IS FASTER THAN AN ARROW.. WHAT NOW b*tchES!

This reminds me of a factoid I read a while back about top fuel dragsters:
If a twin turbo Lingenfelter corvette got a head start (a mile head start?) and were approaching top speed crossing the start line, and the dragster launched as the vette came by, the dragster would cross the 1/4 mile mark first. Then, of course, it would need its engine torn down and rebuilt after fewer than 1,000 revolutions since the last rebuild.
Edit: oh, and to stay on topic - the arrow CLEARLY was faster until drag took over and slowed the arrow. The car lost if the race was shorter. That commercial was stupid, except as a technical videographic exercise, and even as that it was probably not that tough.

it'd just have to follow you and pick up the pieces that fall off
