Yes, I bought one too. Then after looking at what was going on with the Gen Coupe's headlight circuit I never installed it. Many older cars a relay is a must but with the wiring from the factory in the Genesis there already are relays for the low beams, high beams and fog lights. Even the tail lamps and back up lights have relays.
FYI - the new Sonata has had a BIG problem resulting from HID installs WITHOUT a relay wiring harness to the battery.

If you own a Sonata, PLEASE DO get a relay and pull from the battery. It's just safer. Many others have reported similar problems to the link above. You can debate back and forth over whether or not it's needed, but I haven't seen anyone USING a relay harness that had problems. I have seen people WITHOUT a relay harness have bad results. I'd recommend going with the safer solution based on other member experiences.

Well after spending 3+ hours at my local Hyundai service department (which coincidentally was at the Nissan dealership) the mechanics finally had to call Hyundai service to find out it was in fact the junction box that needed to be replaced. They are ordering one for me now and hopefully I will finally get my headlight fixed on Thursday. Sounds like an assembly level repair ... troubleshoot to the component and replace the assembly.
I don't know, that's why I posted about the 2011 Sonata having problems. I want to make sure people are aware that there are potential issues.
The thread started with him showing cool pictures that allowed him to see the light disbursement from the projectors with HIDs.
Then you wanted to show your pictures off.
It then migrated to whether or not someone should use a relay kit. I wanted to let people know that there have been Hyundai models with blown junction boxes as a result of installing HIDs without the relay harness. Seeing it happen on a Sonata is the reason I have a relay on my car. I haven't seen the Sonata problem replicated on a Genesis, but I thought it would be beneficial to share.

The 2011 Sonata does not use relays. The headlight switch carries full power, goes through the BCM and then the inside fuse panel straight to the headlights. No relays. Old school.
