Just a couple pictures I shot with my phone the other night. The fog showed me how the beam disperses with the 6000K Diode Dynamics HID kit.

This one wasnt the same night. Just pretty

I have been looking to upgrade to HID with DD. A couple of questions: did you use the relay, and did you find the kit plug and play? Does the beam seem focused or does it scatter and become blinding?

Yes I used the relay. I like the extra margin of safety it gives you with pulling a steady non fluctuating source of power to the lights. No flicker and they get to full brightness faster. Granted the system works just fine (stated from other folks who've done it with no relay) without the relay harness but for $10, why not? I like consistency. The kit took me about a hour to install. That includes drilling the extra holes in the back of the dust caps on the headlights to accommodate the new wiring. Once that's done and you have the bulbs installed in the headlight units, its just plug and play from there on out. I mounted the digital ballasts on the fuse boxes on either side. They come with double sided 3m adhesive so i just stuck them right on. System works great. Just remember that it takes a few seconds for the system to reach full brightness. The beam has a nice balance of lighting up a good width of road while not being overly ridiculous in the spread. You can see where the main two beams focus is for sure. From all my friends who've traveled in front of me, they say it is not blinding at all, just a normal beam with brighter intensity and color.

More than the fuse protection i think its bigger purpose is to pull power directly off the battery versus drawing it through the cars electrical system
