^I HATE Volvos. Hate 'em and their owners too.
Too expensive and offer no alternative.
I didn't know the Prius V was a 7-seater?! How in hell does a small engine haul so much weight without self-destroying itself/overheating? Interestingly, I thought of it as almost ideal too.
The downsides of the Jetta Sportwagen is a 2.5L, the trunk hatch has a weird shape and is ugly, and most important it's too expensive at $23,998.00 USD compared to the slightly lower quality and slower but more economic but much cheaper and better warrantied Touring.
My kinda wagons:
Too expensive and offer no alternative.
One wagon that was impressive as hell was the Prius V. I don't care for its eco rubbish, but it's a solid, well built, practical and livable wagon. With seven seats and dat electric everywhere-torque.

To my mind, when it comes to the VW wagons, the one to get is the Diesel. Mountains of torque, quiet (these days) and the fuel economy of a hybrid. And, honestly, I like the way they look and drive.
If only they'd sell us the GTI model here in North America. My cousin in the UK had a diesel GTI and loved it.

1) House 2) Partying 3) Car
I will gladly enjoy my week scuba diving in Belize instead of upgrading the turbo on my car. But, not having to worry about kids means I can do both.

To expensive for who?
For the common suburban consumer (especially one today that can barely afford anything nice) including leasing or financing. Certainly not a $60,000 Mercedes wagon. Hell, a Professor doesn't earn that much annually let alone.
No alternative? What does that mean?
Let's just say those companies (Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac) are meant for the "privileged" consumer (I'm thinking of target market) rather than a practical, financially-conscientious one.

You don't have to be privileged to buy a $60k car. It just means you view vehicles as something other than basic transportation. My roommate makes $30k a year. He drives a Z06 Corvette. I make $70k and own 3 cars and a truck.

all you guys who don't want kids are missing out HUGE! Best mistake I ever made. I was like some of you "screw kids, I wanna party and own a nice car". I was wrong, and so are you guys. Until you have one, you have no idea what your missing out on.
