Don't be getting all fresh on the i40.
Wagons are meant to contain picnic hampers and labradors, what are you even doing where RWD is necesssary for traction?

^LOL!
If somebody made a proper AWD wagon flawless unlike the Outback and Impreza with their impractically small door designs, not too small like the Impreza WRX Wagons and original Foresters, not too big like the new Foresters, not too expensive and aluminum like the Audi's, and not turbo 93 fuel-only or V6 VW's... getting my point (no perfect AWD wagon exists)?
The absolute closest thing to a perfectly designed wagon with common sense in mind is the Elantra Touring. Beef it up with AWD, thicker more rugged tires/rims, slightly lifted suspension, some plastic panels borrowed from the original Tucson and Terracan, a small bullbar with a tow rope, optional snorkel and safari lights, and a slightly beefier engine with eco-mode and rugged-mode (and diesel option for those high-ballers) aannnnnnnnnnddddddddddddddd
It would be like the iphone when it was first released.

I've had two wagons in my time (both Pontaic Parisienne Safari's, one 1984, 1988) and I love me some wagons.
that said, I'd love to say I'd seirously think about a Genesis Wagon, but the reality is, it's gonna be over $50k cdn, and that's more than I can justify spending on a car, at least for the moment. The i40/Sonata wagon though, damn, THAT is totally in the ballpark, as I'll be looking for a winter/stuff mover very soon, and the only real options right now are the Sportage & Tucson.

^I agree the closest thing to the best wagon are Tucsons, but even they are tiny and more SUV-like. The best wagons I've found are the Elantra Touring, Mazda 3, and VW Jetta Sportwagen. Overall though, the best I've seen thus far is the i40 Wagon b/c is based off of a Sonata.
Those and Caprices are MASSIVE. Gotta love that classic early 90's squad car design though.
Oh and then there's this

What in the actual f*ck was that J2 wagon smoking? Also agreed on the jetta wagon. sh*t is nayce.
Teuton wagons are great, if they have less than 60k miles and you can afford one
One wagon that was impressive as hell was the Prius V. I don't care for its eco rubbish, but it's a solid, well built, practical and livable wagon. With seven seats and dat electric everywhere-torque.
