Default Genesis Coupe Twin Turbo with All Wheel Drive and 8 AT Spotted

http://thekoreancarblog.com/2015/10/...-8-at-spotted/

In April we published an exclusive information about the next generation Genesis Coupe, and as we said, the next-gen will have a Genesis Coupe Twin Turbo with the 3.3-liter engine. After a few proofs, like showing the engine at the Chicago Motor Show without making big noise or a test mule with intercoolers, today and thanks to the tip from SeoulFulRacing,, here it is, a Genesis Coupe test mule with a label that says, “test car – 3.3T 8AT AWD”.

Continue reading…We were told the new Genesis Coupe will come with 3 engines to choose from, we don’t know if this will be for USA or certain markets only.

The first engine will be the 2.0 turbocharged engine, it is the same engine the Genesis coupe had previously but improved and ready to hit again the market with an affordable RWD coupe. The second engine will the 3.8 N/A just like the previous generation.

The third engine, and here is where the surprise were revealed with the 3.3 Twin Turbo engine. Our sources told us this model will come under “N performance” model program. According to the latest spy pictures, this engine is now confirmed and it will be available with an All-Wheel Drive system and 8-speed automatic transmission.

Hyundai will be classifying their most powerful models under the “N performance” bracket in the years to come. We were also told this engine will be around 480 horsepower and 59kg of torque. When Hyundai Motor America’s CEO was interviewed a few days ago during the New York AutoShow he said: “This all-new engine would arrive on the Genesis sedan in 2017 or 2018 and have power in the ballpark of the company’s 420-hp, 5.0-liter Tau V-8 but weigh far less.”

Coincidentally our source mention this engine will be ready for production in late 2017. Also we knew that the new Hyundai Genesis Coupe will use the same chassis as the current one, only with a different look (not far from the current design, but closer to Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design way).

The horsepower usually will go up or down when they are testing prototypes and specially when they hit production but what we can get from those numbers is, this engine is capable of making that much horsepower but the reason why, our source informed us Hyundai is working on adding forged internals to this engines.

We feel this is the most clear information we have so far about the Genesis Coupe.

Hello $50,000+ price tag plus a crazy dealer markup. I'll wait a few years and get a used one with low miles that's still in stock form so it hasnt been raped.

This is great news. I hope the price wont be too far out of my range because I would like to trade in or sell my current Gen for this model when it comes out.
